21st annual West Windsor BikeFest
About this event
On Sunday, September 7, West Windsor Recreation and Parks will present the 21st annual West Windsor BikeFest.
This annual tradition, begun in 2005, offers participants rides of 1.5, 8, 20, and 40 miles long.
The in-park ride will highlight the indigenous Lenape that were our area’s original settlers, and a mid-1800s crossroads called Vanhiseville, most of whose original buildings still stand at the intersection of Hendrickson Drive and North Mill Road. Longer rides will explore the Trolley Line Trail, named after an early-1900s trolley line. Routes cut through historic neighborhoods like Grovers Mill, Dutch Neck, and Edinburg, and the longest rides go into Robbinsville and Plainsboro.
In addition, families can enjoy kid-friendly activities such as an obstacle course and a scavenger hunt.
Lunch -- hoagies from Aljon’s and Indian fare from Tript Foods -- is included.
All rides begin at the West Windsor Community Park pavilion (at the end of Bernt Midland Boulevard). Road Maestro will be on hand for last-minute adjustments.
